You won’t be able to cut the porcelain steel on your own but the porcelain steel would work best especially if your using it as a coffee table. Water marks would stain or ruin a non-magnetic or composition type chalkboard.

Get a chalkboard and make/buy a small low table to fit it. Go to home depot and get coasters and screw them on.
Paint it. Easy.
I always just make my own plans. Just sketch out what you would like to have and figure out how big you want it, and go from there:) Or you could find a used table about the right size at a thrift shop, and add your rollers and paint the top with the chalkboard paint that is available now. If the top isn’t good enough to take the paint, get you a smooth piece of plywood and cut it to fit. Follow the directions about priming, etc. on the chalkboard paint.
