building an outdoor cabinet bar, location is facing beach in so.cal,what wood to use and clear finsih?

the old one has 1'' x 4 5/8" tongue and groove planks laminated together by about 2' deep as the counter top and the sides are construction grade 3/4" plywood
Teak makes an excellent weather resistent cabinet, it is expensive, but it can with stand lots of abuse.
Redwood,cypress,ceder,teak, have even seen red and white oak stand up pretty well.
