I'm having my room repaired and also a wooden cabinet will be built on. I'm quite concerned about my cabinet. Should I have it varnished or painted? Will the odor of varnish or paint go away when it's dry? Some people say that I should let it air dry for a couple of days but i don't know if the smell will be really gone. I don't want to have my room or my clothes smell like it. I'd really appreciate any helpful response to this. Thanks in advance.
I've just built a table for my design class. I used old wood and I painted it black. The paint has dried and I just decided to give it an antique look. How can I do this using paint thinner?
I am building a beer pong table, and i have been using Valspar Acrylic Latex Primer and Paint. I know this is not oil based, but does this mean i cannot use Polyurethane to protect the table? Also i have Valspar Clear Gloss, which i am assuming is clear coat, would clear coat protect the table just as polyurethane would?
we are building a coffee table and we want to make it shiny for a finished look. we used gloss paint but its not shiny at all . i want to the look more bought then homemade

it is a bedside table with one drawer and below a space to put books, the paint is its natural color.
