What type of compond miter saw?

Is there a brand/ model of compound miter saw I should get?
Are there specific features that are necessary or a waste of money?

I don't have a lot of money or space.
I enjoy wood working, especially cabinet / table building.
Currently, I only use hand-held power tools. I would like to upgrade to a miter saw. Any suggestions?

Remington 10" Pole Saw Compatibility with 14" or 12" Saw?

My 10" pole saw has cracked and broken and no longer safe to use. I want to replace just the saw but don't see a 10" model. Will the 14" which looks just like it, (in the pictures, haven't seen it in person) with the same 8 Amp motor, work?

I see Sears has a 12" looks the same too...

After doing a little more research I went to Sears and bought the 14" Remington(on sale). The motor and casing are the exact same size. It bolts up perfectly. Works fine and can't be more than 1 pound heavier than the 10"(just 4 extra bar inches and some extra links). So I answered my own question.. Can I get those 10 points?

I've been thinking about buying a set of power tools to use in carpentry applications (Im tired of borrowing my grandfathers). I'm in the process of remodeling my home and need a circular saw, a drill/screwgun and a recipricating saw. I saw the Milwaukee V28 set and it looks like just what I need. My grandfather who is a very experienced carpender tells me Milwaukee is a very good brand. Tell me what you think.....thanx.
