One company charges you 0 for the "mechanism" (which is just the hinges, some tailgate hydraulics, and latches) and the plans, and you still have to buy the lumber and build the cabinet.
I looked online and a completed murphy or wall bed costs upward of 00 which I don't want to spend at all, especially considering my situation is only temporary.
There were plans for and I was hoping they showed how to build my own mechanism, but all they said was something like "for the next step, go buy a murphy bed mechanism from this company and install it in the cabinet which you just built".
I was hoping to do something cheap like just build a box for the mattress and build a frame that it fits in, bolt hinges to the box and mount it in the frame, add some hydraulics (like the kind that hold up the hood of the car or the tailgate of the truck, not the kind that make lowrider cars bounce) inside of the frame like I have seen in some wall bed plans, screw the frame to the wall, strap the mattress inside of the box, and there you go. Without caring what it looks like as long as it works.
It is just a twin mattress.
Anyway thanks in advance.
